We use push notifications to keep members updated with new content and events on the website. Updates are regularly sent out to notify members on the following:
- Reminders before the cut-off time to register for the weekly club night.
- Swim times for the previous club night have been added to the website.
- The next club night race program is available to view on the website.
- General updates and reminders of upcoming events.
In order to receive push notifications please use the following instructions for each device you want to receive notifications on.
All devices except Apple iPhone and iPad
Most modern devices (including phones and computers) support receiving push notifications from websites. If your device supports it you can subscribe to notifications from this website using the following steps:
- Tap the Subscribe to notifications link in the footer of the site.
- Tap the option to Allow Notifications in the prompt that follows.
You will then start receiving push notifications that are sent from this website. If you no longer wish to receive notifications you can unsubscribe using the Unsubscribe from notifications link in the footer (this link only appears when you are subscribed.)
Apple iPhone and iPad devices
iPhone and iPad devices need to be updated to at least iOS 16.4 in order to be able to receive push notifications. You will then need to do the following steps:
- Visit this website on your browser on a mobile Apple device updated to 16.4 or higher.
- Tap the Share button of the browser on a mobile device.
- Tap the Add to home screen option.
- Save this website as an app on your device - the default name is Redbacks.
- Open this app from the home screen.

Issues subscribing to notifications
Here are some common issues you may encounter while trying to subscribe to notifications.
Clicking on the subscribe button doesn't do anything
You have most likely previously blocked this website from sending you push notifications. You will need to go in to your web browser settings and unblock this setting for this website. This is different for each browser/device, so if you can't find a solution come and see a committee member and we'll try and sort you out.
I can't see a link to subscribe
Most likely your web browser or device does not support push notifications. You can try another device or web browser, or come and see a committee member and we'll try and sort you out.
