As part of the Upper Hunter district, our club competes at six intertown meets during the season. These are carnivals where we attend other locations and swim representing Branxton Greta. We also host one of the meets during the season. Intertown meets are a great way of meeting other swimmers and enjoying friendly competition, cheered on by family and friends.
For the 2021/22 season there will only be 3 Intertown Meets due to COVID-19 restrictions. The meets will be co-hosted by Singleton/Branxton-Greta, Denman/Mussellbrook, Merriwa/Scone.
The clubs involved in intertown meets are:
- Branxton Greta
Registering for intertown meets
Swimmers need to register for each intertown meet prior to the event. Registration is quick and easy and is done through the members section of this website. Simple go to the swim registration page and select the event to register your swimmers. You need to be a member and logged in to your member account to access the swim registration page.
Our club is able to submit only one entrant per event in the schedule. To keep it fair, our Intertown Race Secretary will use the registrations from our website to allocate swimmers up to two races each. Usually one race will be at (or just over) your child's age group and the other could be at a significantly higher age group (i.e. where we do not have an entrant.) There are two freestyle relays for each gender on the day. Each will be allocated 6 swimmers and a few spares (just in case on the day they are needed to fill in.)
Registration closes a couple of weeks before the intertown meet so please ensure you register your swimmers in time. This gives our Intertown Race Secretary enough time to prepare swimmers for each event and submit them to the meet organiser.
Coast and Valley Swimming Meets
There are swim meets held by Coast and Valley Swimming at various nearby pools such as Maitland, Beresfield and Cessnock. Dates and venues for these meets are posted on this website and on the clubhouse window - registration is via Swim Central. Some meets require minimum qualifying times and others are known as development meets and are open to all swimmers over the age of 8 to register. If you have any questions regarding these meets, please contact us.
